October Repair Cafe Success

What a fantastic second Chippenham Repair Cafe we had today at the The Cause Venue, Chippenham!
Here are some of our volunteer Claire Robinson’s fabulous photographs. So many bicycle, sewing, electrical and general repairs we didn’t stop! Plus fabulous homemade cakes with Bettina Hollis burning the midnight oil making cakes and pizza rolls.
Thank you to Chippenham Big Bike Revival for organising and funding bike repairs and seeding our cafe with Cycle Repair tools and stand, with a generous donation of consumables from Spindles Bikes which Peter and Adrian made great use of. Cycling UK funding and support from the #BigBikeRevival has been invaluable. For those that had bicycle repairs Cycle Chippenham have a new beginners town ride planned for Sunday 18th October 10am to 12pm.
A big thank you to all our volunteers and Julian at Share and Repair for fabulous support, mentoring, and borrowing a PAT tester from another cafe. Our volunteers offered their time and expertise for free and we were all sharing experience and knowledge.
My personal favourite of the day was the 1950’s Champion Juicer which really was made to last and be repaired! The moment when Andy Chapman repaired a stereo and the sounds of Glen Miller burst across the Cause – and a few people dancing was pretty special.
Our next Repair Cafe is Saturday 7th November, at the Cause, 10am to 1pm.
