Our first Chippenham Repair Cafe in partnership with Share and Repair and Cycle Chippenham – Chippenham Big Bike Revival was a huge success!
After several months of planning we finally launched our first ever Chippenham Repair Cafe at the Cause venue in Chippenham. It was very much a volunteer partnership with the motto:-
‘if you can carry it, we’ll try to fix it!’
The big day arrived, and the stats are brilliant:
🧑🔧 13 volunteers, and a lot of prospective volunteers popped in for a look and ended up staying and helping out
🚲 Bike Maintenance – we partnered with our friends at Cycle Chippenham and their Chippenham Big Bike Revival initiative to offer free bike checks and repairs. With two Cycle Repairers on hand we had 12 attendees and carried out checks or minor repairs on 15 bikes! #BigBikeRevival
🛠️ General Repairs – we looked at 22 items, with 16 successful repairs and 19 customers in total.
🎂 We had a wonderful selection of homemade cakes and biscuits which went down a treat!
We have two more repair cafes planned for this year…
- Saturday 3rd October
- Saturday 7th November
Both are 10am to 1pm at The Cause Venue, Chippenham.
For Cycle Checks and Repairs we are trying a simple time slot booking for our October Repairs.
Take a look at our gallery below for a flavour of the day! Thank you Claire Robinson for the lovely photos.
